Turns out green energy isn't a sustainable business model ... BP is taking $20 billion in write downs over the past two years. Now the company is going to refocus its efforts on oil and gas.
If profit is the only motivating factor it's going to take decades to ramp up clean energy. This stuff _has_ to be subsidized in the early years in order to compete. The fossil fuel industry has been dominate for centuries, there is simply no way to catch up in the free market alone.
If the business face no repercussions from the damage being done to the earth, there is simply no reason for them to do anything differently.
