Atlassian announces plans nto acquire The Browser Company for a cool $610 million. This is the small startup company behind the now-defunct Arc browser, which users seemed to love, and the new Dia browser, which is just another AI slop machine.
OpenAI and Perplexity were reportedly also both looking into acquiring The Browser Company, but Atlassian go there first.
I can almost see acquiring the company for the original Arc browser which actually had a substantial amount of traction. But that product is dead now, just barely receiving updates in maintenance mode. What value does The Browser company offer now?
