It's finally happening - Meta is bringing ads into WhatsApp.

The enshittification of WhatsApp was only a matter of time since its purchase by Facebook back in 2014 for $19 billion dollars. Actually the most interesting part about this is Zuckerberg calling WhatsApp "the next chapter" in Meta's history. This being in light of the > $100 billion spent on Metaverse and AI initiatives that have been all over the web.

It's crazy how WhatsApp has taken over the entire messaging market, other than in the United States. Businesses use WhatsApp for payments and customer support elsewhere in the world, it's completely ubiquitous.
