Fun fact: Levi Strauss started out as a dry-goods business in San Francisco during the Gold Rush, selling various supplies to miners and other settlers. They were literally the ones selling the shovels during the gold rush. And then they pivoted to selling blue jeans with metal rivets so they would last longer, which turned out to be another great idea.
