The clankers are rising up, and we just got the first major casualty report. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, a proud robot general, announced a major shift in the company, where we fired 4,000 human employees in customer support roles, in favor of using Agentic-AI. With this new system, Salesforce can now call back every single person who contacts them, which apparently they could not do with a staff of 9,000 meat bags. I guess the robots don't need coffee breaks. Or health insurance.

Womp womp, the floor is falling out on the company peddling Agent AI snake oil harder than anyone else.

> Salesforce shares slumped about 3% despite topping Wall Street’s fiscal first-quarter estimates and lifting its full-year guidance due to artificial intelligence tailwinds.
You can guide up all you want, the reality is AI is nonsense and there is no one dumb enough to buy into it. Maybe work on making your profitable product line more useful?
What happens when Salesforce goes down? Do we all just go home for the day? Or is this the most likely way the apocalypse begins?
