Lisa Su claims semiconductor manufacturing in the US via TSCM's factories is going surprisingly well - with yields now being about equivalent with what they can get in Taiwan. The cost difference is the most important part, with the American made chips being only slightly more expensive, in the low single digits %. This is for 4nm though, since TSMC will not allow the bleeding edge process chips be manufactured anywhere but Taiwan.

Interesting to think about this in the context of Intel, whose only value proposition at this point was being able to provide American made chips.
