Apple now losing notable market share to Samsung, as foldable phones gain momentum. In Q2 shipments from Samsung surged in market share from 23% to 31%, after launching two new folding phones. One that folds like a tablet, and one that folds like an old-school flip phone. Is Apple ever going to remember how to innovate and get back on the product leadership bandwagon? https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/16/samsungs-us...

Apple reports biggest revenue growth since December 2021 Don't get too excited though, Apple's planning on incinerating tons of cash on artificial intelligence in the coming quarters. > Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple would “significantly grow” its AI investments, adding that the company is “open to M&A that accelerates our roadmap.” https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/31/apple-aapl-...

Apple fails to deliver any progress in its Artificial Intelligence offerings at WWDC 2025. They made such great promises at last year's WWDC, and now, one full year later, still have not delivered on the vast majority of what they claimed. Only a matter of time before people catch on that AI isn't capable of doing a fraction of what is being marketed. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/09/apple-wwdc-...

Texas gonna Texas. All Apple app store users are now required to verify their age, due to a new law signed by Texas governor Greg Abbot. Apparently this can be done with a scan of your face - no actual ID required. I wonder how long it will take to just bypass this system with a cardboard cutout... https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/28/tech/texas-a...

Ugh. https://appleinsider.com/articles/25/06/02/... So let's lay this out. Jony Ive and Laurene Powell Jobs (widow of Steve Jobs) are collaborating on an AI startup that has been acquired by Open AI. They claim, "humanity deserves better" from technology and are going to do something about it. Now getting in to bed with Sam Altman, this is all starting to feel extremely icky. Neither of these companies have come close to producing a profitable venture. There's zero proven track record for Open AI to produce anything of value - ChatGPT and its surrounding features are operating at an insane loss measured in the billions of dollars. Everything about this just _screams_ snake oil, and that they are desperate to continue the hype train that has elevated the valuation of Open AI so far. The intentional vagueness around their upcoming "AI Device" makes no sense. If they had something tangible, they'd be screaming about it from the rooftops. But all we get are gross teasers about Sam and Jony being best buddies and nothing is ever going to be the same again? Pass.

> President Donald Trump said in a social media post Friday morning that Apple will have to pay a tariff of 25% or more for iPhones made outside the United States. For iPhones made outside of the United States? Wouldn't that just be ... literally all iPhones? We don't even have the factories much less the personnel here in the U.S. to make devices like an iPhone. What a joke.

Apple just re-launched its AI era with Apple Intelligence again at WWDC, and it looks like they're increasing the slop integration with Siri. Maybe it'll go from a 10% success rate to like 15%. Still worthless. Meanwhile, everyone else is throwing ChatGPT wrappers into their apps like it’s Halloween candy. This whole artificial intelligence hype war is a blight on humanity.
